Nazi Germany After World War I, or The Great War as it was known back then, Germany was left devastated both financially and, since German propaganda had not prepared the nation for defeat, emotionally, resulting in a sense of injured German national pride. But because Germany was â€Å"stabbed in the back† by its leftwing politicians, Communists, and Jews, or more colourfully known as the ‘November Criminals’, it was still widely believed that Germany had not truly been defeated. When a new government, the Weimar Republic, tried to establish a democratic course, extreme political parties from both the right and the left struggled violently for control. â€Å"The new regime could neither handle the depressed economy nor the rampant†¦show more content†¦Hitler’s beliefs of national pride, militarism, commitment to the Volk and a racially â€Å"pure† Germany as well as anti-Semitism soon attracted supporters by the hundred. Although the German Workers’ Party started out as a small right-wing organisation, with Hitler’s joining, it gained support. The German Workers Party now featured Hitler as the main attraction at its meetings. In his speeches Hitler railed against the Treaty of Versailles and delivered anti-Semitic tirades, blaming the Jews for Germanys problems. At this point in time the Nazi Party’s ideals seemed to attract members who were part of the labour sector in society or workers. These were the men and women who worked in industrial institution such as factories. These people were often threatened by unstable employment and therefore pay, but Hitler offered stable employment and pay. The Nazi Party’s policies based on anti-Semitism, Lebensraum (Livingspace), economic and social reforms—including nationalization of the trusts also attracted the workers. Times were changing, however, and Hitler was ready to make the next step in consolidation his power. Hitler’s extraordinary public speaking skills were utilised to gather supporters for the Nazi Party. The mid 1920s were a tense and strained period in which much happened. Even most of the scene makes me dizzy because of those effects, because I really feel like it was so true and gives a feeling that I was actually there in that particular moment . Another scene I really cant get over is when the the cat appears on the office of Dr. Lanning with detective Spooner. It was so cute and funny scene as they venture upon going out in the demolishing mansion. The plot twist is insane. I have so many thoughts of guessing if who’s really the bad guy. Thought it was Sonny for he was so suspiscious and thinking that he might be the suspect in the murder. Also , Mr. Robertson who control VIKI because he looked like a bad person as he command Dr. Calvin to maybe deactivate Sonny because he’s kind of unique. But then, at the end I just found out that it was VIKI ( Virtual Interactive Kinetic Intelligence) that is the bad one. I thought she was just a cool and advanced CCTV there, but she’s quietly planning to control the people. I also have that thought first that it was Mr. Robertson who send command to those whole set of robots in two big unique cars who trapped detective Spooner, but I was wrong, it was VIKI. That scene was so intense! It’s one of my favorite scene also. Additional of this is when the revolution happened with those spider-like robots climbing the tall building. Evolution of electric vehicles has been met to address depression of fuel resources and prevention of air polluti on. Emission of harmful hydrocarbons has been a major global issue that has mitigated car manufacturers to invent and adopt less harmful machineries. In addition, over the years there has been an increase in awareness among people across the world to adopt eco-friendly means by going green due to the recent dangers of global warming. Electric vehicles have, therefore, been the potential option to save the world from harmful gases emitted by petroleum driven cars. These modes of cars have taken a long journey since 1996 when General Motors produced the first modern electric car in the world. The recent electric cars that have been introduced are Chevrolet Volt, Tesla Roadster, and Nissan Leaf. These cars have made a very great stride in the current technology and acceptance of the consumers. This is because they have been considered as a major step of reducing dependency on petroleum products, protecting the environment, and improving sustainability of transport across the world (Ebe rhard & Tarpenning, 2006). It is estimated that electric cars can cover a distance of 100 miles per hour, which makes them the fastest cars in the world. This has given these cars higher popularity and sales in various countries like the United States and United Kingdom. In 2011, sale of electric cars in the United States has risen to about 350 thousand units. Many customers purchased these cars so as to qualify for tax incentives that were imposed by federal governments on petroleum products during economy recession. Despite General Motors’ willingness to combat global warming, the company always faces a barrier of electrifying car industries due to the limited range of the electric cars. This barrier is mainly observed on the consumers’ side – they are afraid of getting stranded alongside roads with empty batteries (Haaren, 2011). Although there is great emphasis on protecting the environment through using environmental friendly cars, people need to be realist ic about their benefits. Cayetano, the Akaka Bill has arose and passed in Congress due to a sense of compulsion among Hawaiians. The Akaka Bill was enacted into law, in which a majority of Hawaiians eligible to vote selected an entity called, â€Å"lahui† to represent them in negotiations with the federal government for a type of sovereignty that is yet to be determined. According to U.S. court decisions, congress has the absolute authority to expand or reduce the powers of Lahui, just as it has over the American Indians. Therefore, the Akaka Bill does not automatically guarantee sovereignty to the Hawaiian people. Congress must enact a law that authorizes the terms agreed to, once an agreement is reached between Lahui and the government.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The Akaka Bill will allow Hawaiian people to exercise self-determination under U.S. law. It will also allow the Hawaiians to have more direct control over their ancestral lands and control of trust assets.
